Skalis review: portage salarial and Employer of Record in Belgium
A French portage salarial group that employs under Belgian law through Skalis Belgium SRL, a Brussels company on the register since 2020. We read the Crossroads Bank record and the filed accounts of both the Belgian company and its French parent, then scored the Belgian offer on our eight criteria.
The right door for a consultant who wants a Belgian salary; a thinner case for a company hiring staff.
Skalis is a Boulogne-Billancourt portage salarial company founded in 2008 and a member of the French PEPS union. In July 2020 it set up Skalis Belgium SRL in Brussels, and the Belgian offer employs people under Belgian law through that company: Belgian contract, NSSO affiliation, Belgian payslip, a Belgian phone number and coverage from Brussels to Antwerp, Ghent, Liège and Charleroi. The core product is portage for independent consultants who want salaried status, extended to an Employer of Record service for companies without a Belgian entity, a single billing point for subcontracted freelancers, expatriation help and the Belgian copyright-income regime for IT and creative profiles. The balance sheet is the caveat: the Belgian SRL carried negative equity of about €354,000 at end-2025 after a €298,000 loss in 2023, the French parent lost €865,000 in 2024, and sister company Skalis Digital entered judicial liquidation in August 2025. For a consultant, the Belgian contract and the copyright regime are real advantages. For a company placing employees, no fee is published and the Belgian pages say nothing about joint committees, indexation, Dimona or Article 31.
Choose Skalis if you are an independent consultant or a company engaging consultants who want a Belgian employment contract, French-speaking support and the copyright-income regime. Look elsewhere if you want published fees, Dutch-language documentation, a named Article 31 route or a provider with positive equity.
